The Development & Etiology of Anxiety & Related Conditions (DEAR) Lab

University of Windsor

Director: Dr. Lance M. Rappaport, Ph.D. C.Psych.

Indoor Climbing Wall

Research

The DEAR lab studies children's emotional, social, and interpersonal development. We build on past research that identified genetic and environmental risk factors for most psychiatric and psychological conditions. Specifically, our research seeks to identify social and emotional mechanisms that explain how genetic and environmental risk develop into anxiety disorders and related mental health conditions, such as depressive disorders, substance use disorders, and eating disorders, throughout childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood.
